Five Q’s, five A’s and one advice from Morgan Page

Hey Morgan, thanks for taking the time to answer these couple of questions. Tell us a bit about you: who are you, where are you from, where are you headed?

My name is Morgan Page. I’m a DJ, producer, and remixes originally from Vermont, but based in Los Angeles. I am headed wherever the music and airplanes take me.

I noticed the link to your Twitter account in the main tabs of your website navigation. How come you made it this prominent? What’s the motivation behind it?

Twitter is the best way for people to find out what’s happening right now — I like to post insights from the studio, thoughts on the road, and links to new tracks and mixes as soon as they are posted online.

How important is technology in your daily life and as an artist in particular? What are you three favorite tech/gadget/services?

Technology plays a big role. I’m addicted to my iPhone, my analog synths, and my Soundcloud!

What about that iPhone app? Tell us about it.

It’s a cool little free app made by iLike that keeps people posted on the latest shows and media. It’s a useful tool for connecting with fans.

It’s great to see that you make use of your SoundCloud account to the fullest. How did you learn about SoundCloud and how do you use it / like about it?

I think I heard about it from a friend during the Beta cycle and thought I’d give it a try. I felt it was a unique and secure way to offer music with a cool visual flare.

Finally, since you’re such an avid Twitter user, each in no less than 140 characters, what are your top three advices to artists?

    1. Keep your studio setup simple - but buy quality gear and cables.
    2. Create your own sound, don’t just copy others
    3. Build your own rules and limitations, then break them

    Thanks for your time, Morgan!
