SoundCloud Spotted: Generator, Eurockeennes, Pop Montreal, Andrew Roachford, City & Colour, Let’s Wrestle and more…

SoundCloud Spotted is our weekly roundup of the most interesting uses of SoundCloud out on the interwebz. Here you can find all you’ll ever need to know about super cool apps, SoundCloud exclusives and new and exciting SoundClouders!

We’re going to launch straight into things this week with a new feature from our buddies over at Generator.

They have started a blog called ‘The Tipping Point’ which has began by introducing all the artists from the North East of England playing the Evolution Emerging event, with one requirement, each artist featured must have a SoundCloud account! From June onwards they will continue to feature an emerging North East artist each week day. They are then planning to grow this blog to include more areas within the North and eventually become national with a monthly email to industry contacts that features the best four from that month!

Check out this example of one of their featured artists, Athletes In Paris, then head here to check out the blog!

Next we’re going to take a quick look at a couple of festivals who have been making excellent use of SoundCloud recently…

Firstly, and I’m sure this event needs no introduction, Eurockeennes have began using SoundCloud players to showcase their artists across their website and social networks, check out this fantastic example showcasing an Anna Calvi track…

Pop Montreal are also using SoundCloud for their Popsesh Pick Of The Week feature! Check out their features with Cavaliers Of Fun, Nive Nielsen and Bloodgroup!

Creamfields have made great use of our integration with Rootmusic and are streaming tracks from artists performing at this years event on their eye-catching Bandpage on Facebook, check it out!

Now for something completely different…

Seether have deployed our Social For Download App, tweet out from here to unlock a full stream of their brand new album ‘Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray’.

Let’s Wrestle released their new record, ‘Nursing Home,’ this week. Thanks to the band uploading it to SoundCloud and sharing it using the Secret Widget you can now stream it online here via the lovely folks at Drowned In Sound! Excellent news, eh?

City and Colour have customised our waveform player to fit in with their websites cheery colour scheme and are previewing tracks from their new album! Check it out here

Another artist who is taking full advantage of the customisable SoundCloud players is indo-world folk rocker Raghu Dixit - using a bunch of great looking mini players to preview albums on his website! Take a look here.

Last but not least…

Does everyone remember Andrew Roachford of Roachford - “Cuddly Toy (Feel For Me)” fame? Well, Andrew recently joined SoundCloud, follow him here or stream the track below to listen to him sound-checking at the Royal Albert Hall last week!
