Indie rock ‘n rollers Metric have gone all out with their SoundCloud use in their recent campaign for the release of Synthetica…
Their first single was unveiled via an interactive promo using a SoundCloud player, their second single was delivered to fans in a private player with downloads enabled, the album was unveiled via an interactive promo using a SoundCloud app, they even released an album scavenger hunt and a lyrics drag & drop app, and then they turned their SoundCloud players public and gave embeds to Pitchfork, Spin and more.
The music portion of their website streams every song the band has ever done, too, all through SoundCloud. They’re about to crack 1 million streams.

KORG iKaossilator with SoundCloud
Today we’re incredibly excited to add the KORG iKaossilator to the SoundCloud App Gallery.
KORG changed the way in which anyone could start making music by introducing an intuitive X-Y touch pad into their Kaoss products. The iKaossilator takes the essence of the Kaossilator and injects it into the iPhone - turning the phone screen into a powerful synth.
The addition of SoundCloud sharing means that you can share your iKaossilated tracks from anywhere with anyone. The app is available with a 50% discount until December 31st, 2011.

We launched a new app called Takes Questions. It’s an audio style Q & A, which gives your friends/followers a chance to ask you questions, and you have the choice to share your answers with the world!

Moby On SoundCloud!
There’s been a lot of buzz this week about the different ways that Moby has been using SoundCloud. And we really wanted to highlight two really cool associated apps that have been built. First up the ‘social music’ Moby app on Facebook that allows you to stream and buy Moby’s new album direct from his fan page. If you get three of your friends to listen too, you can buy the album straight from the app (both downloads and CDs) with a discount up to 20%. Pretty cool, click here to check it out.
