SoundClouder of the Day | Schloss Mirabell

Schloss Mirabell is the project of Florina Speth from Berlin, Germany. She studied cello and piano at a young age. Currently, she’s working in the field of neurorehabilitation “where she developed multimodal feedback instruments, kinematic music and camera-based motion capturing sonification,” she writes.

"Her personal research fields bridges explorative experimental media arts with science to get inspired output for technical solutions in neurological rehabilitation systems as in music perception and music performance."

Now that’s inspiring. ”Little its shell” is a minimalist, ambient electronic piece that sounds like it could be a soundtrack for a mystery movie.

SoundClouder of the Day | Oskar Schuster

Oskar Schuster is a Berlin-based composer and artist.

As noted on his SoundCloud profile: “His songs without words evocate a fairytale-world, strange and surreal. A world full of blurry images of the past; of childhood memories and characters from children’s books; of clicking and ticking clocks and ever-looping music boxes, of far-away-lands, far-away-seas, far-away-skies, far-away-everythings.”

Influenced by composers like Yann Tiersen, find delight in his excellent piano compositions like “Valse Imaginaire” that just may whisk you to a world of bright imagination and wonder.

TC Cribs stopped by SoundCloud’s Berlin Office

From TechCrunch:

Berlin is buzzing with entrepreneurial energy at the moment, and SoundCloud is one of the companies that has emerged as an anchor to the city’s growing tech startup scene. So when TechCrunch TV was in Berlin recently to cover the Disrupt Europe conference, we made sure to stop by SoundCloud’s office to check it out for ourselves.

SoundCloud has grown significantly since its debut in 2007, and now its service boasts more than 250 million active listeners around the world. Its staff has grown quite a bit too, as you’ll see by the density at its current headquarters (the company, which has satellite officesin San Francisco, New York, London, and Bulgaria, is set to move to a new larger Berlin office next year.) For now, though, the close quarters make for an exciting collaborative vibe - and being that most SoundCloud staffers are music buffs or musicians themselves, there’s a lot of creativity in the air in addition to the tech.

Check out the video embedded above to see the artwork, musical instruments, and bottles of Club-Mate that keep SoundCloud HQ buzzing every day. You’ll also get a look at what it’s like to get a German lesson from the full-time language teacher on SoundCloud’s staff - in all, I’d say it was a sehr gut visit.”
