Barclaybunch | SoundCloud Collaboration Tombola Spring 2013

We’re excited about SoundClouder David Barclay’s Tombola challenge that’s back again this year.

Throw your name into the ring to be paired with another sound creator in the community. It’s an opportunity to connect with previously unknown SoundClouders to create something amazing together.

Last year, he had almost 100 people join and created an album with proceeds that went to UNICEF. This year, he’d love to see thousands more join in the fun. Let’s help him achieve this.

To participate, learn more at http://sctombola.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/570/.

Disquiet Junto Project 0065: Piano Overlay
The Disquiet Junto is a communal music-making group on SoundCloud.
“This week’s Disquiet Junto project theme is asynchronous collaboration — in other words, making things together separately. We will make new compositions based on short, discrete, randomly assigned segments of a single, 60-minute piano composition. Collectively these will form a longer, collaborative suite.”
Anyone is welcome to participate. Head here to find out how and join this creative group of creators.
Hear the submissions from this past weekend’s project at https://soundcloud.com/disquiet/sets/disquiet0065-pianoverlay. More than 50 atmospheric sounds that transport you to outer space.

SoundCloud Heroes | Zefora | A SoundCloud Story: The Ripple Effect

Hear Zefora retell the beautiful story of a ‘ripple effect’ collaboration that happened among five SoundCloud community members.

If you have a special collaboration in the works or you experienced on SoundCloud, share it with us by reblogging and posting a comment.

Who are you and what’s important to you?
SoundCloud Heroes are kicking off the year with a community organized project: Audiobiography, an opportunity to introduce your profile and sounds.
Whether you’re a listener or an avid creator, introduce yourself by participating in this collective project. It’s easy:
Record or creatively share a sound that describes and answers the question: who are you and what’s important to you? Perhaps it’s a freestyle rap, or a recording that features your latest piano composition as background music. Keep the track to ~90 seconds.
Name the track Audiobiography with your name, as such “Audiobiography: Ben Z.” Add a description.
Tag the track “audiobio” and upload.
If you have the Spotlight feature, pin the sound to the top of your profile. You can also add the sound to your profile’s description under your Advanced Settings.
Need an example? Hero Ben Z uses hip hop to express who he is.
Audiobiography is going to be massive. Heroes want everyone in the community to be part of it to collect as many audiobiographies as possible by March 31 and continuously more throughout the year. In the coming months, your audiobiography will be shared on SoundCloud, on our official blog and a future creative showcase to be announced.

Community Collaboration | Night Radio

Remember when we posted this script by former SoundClouder of the Day Cristina Marras on the blog, and invited users to audition for the two roles? The result is this radio love story.

There were submissions from all over the world (you can hear them here), and performers Bailey Castle and Darren Kleven were chosen for the final piece. Cristina also recorded a wonderful thank you message about the process of creating the program.

Follow Cristina on SoundCloud to hear about future collaborations, and let us know if you’re planning a cool collaboration by reblogging this post with a note, or sending us a tweet.
