Two weeks ago SoundClouders across the globe came together in their cities to connect over their love of sound! You collectively organized over 160 meetups and there were thousands of attendees who got first access to Next SoundCloud for attending the meetup. What does this mean? It is simple: Our community rocks!

As part of the Soundcloud Global Meetup Day on the 25th of May 2011, six people joined together to create a piece of music along with many other countries throughout the world.
Performed live, recorded in stereo straight to analogue cassette and written using a collection of pre-imagined words, notes and rhythms brought together by each member. 4 notes, chords or rhythms, 6 words and an instrument.
The whole piece was written and recorded live in 2 hours.

Global Meetup Day Berlin: Recapping the Action!
Man o man! Yesterday was such a hoot at the SoundCloud Headquarters here in Berlin! From 7pm to 10 pm we held our third annual Global Meetup Day! The evening started off with some yummy snacks and drinks + a lot of mingling and music from SoundCloud user Bennis Burke. (Continue reading more here at our blog)

Are you in Berlin and you love SoundCloud? Join us at our world-wide headquarters right here in Berlin, as May 25th is SoundCloud’s Global Meetup Day.
Super important: Bring your smartphone! We will be having a Sound Scavenger Hunt that will take all you SoundClouders to the streets, so we need a bunch of people with smartphones to show up! Winners will get swag, every participant will get stickers and we’ll have drinks after the hunt.
Everything starts at 7:00 PM (CEST). We will be on the fourth floor out in the terrace (Don’t worry we will have plenty of signs to guide you to us). See you there (don’t be square)!
SoundCloud is hosting the official London meetup on Global Meetup Day and we’re looking for artists to come on down play at at the Queen of Hoxton Rooftop, 25 May 2011 from 6.30pm and onwards.
If you are an acoustic artist (no amps allowed!) drop your track into our dropbox so we can get in touch with you. It doesn’t just have to be guitars, so if you have an interesting instrumentation and want to play at our meetup just show us your music!
