Two weeks ago SoundClouders across the globe came together in their cities to connect over their love of sound! You collectively organized over 160 meetups and there were thousands of attendees who got first access to Next SoundCloud for attending the meetup. What does this mean? It is simple: Our community rocks!

SoundCloud Global Meetup Day Review :: October 5 2011
Last week 60 cities around the world got together and told us ‘the meaning of sound’ according to them.
This was interpreted in numerous different ways, through speech, song, ambience and sheer loudness! We thought we’d bring you the highlights from these meetups to inspire you to get out there create, connect and share sounds all over the world.

It’s only one week to go until our Global Meetup Day. SoundClouders around the world are gearing up for our Global Meetup Day next Wednesday. Want to know what sound means to the people of San Francisco? Dublin? New Yorkers?

Wouldn’t it be awesome if on Global Meetup Day, SoundClouders around the world create the song of their city? You could go out there, capture the sounds of your city and together with other SoundClouders re-use them in a song that reflects your city best.

The keenly organized Atlanta SoundClouders are taking it to the next level with their upcoming meet up this January 18th. A remix contest of TRICIL’s new track ‘The Emancipation’ is being held, with the winners featured as a part of their Producer Showcase.
Download the stems, remix it, upload it and then RSVP. Contributions from any genre is accepted and is even encouraged! The deadline for submissions is this January 10th. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow SoundClouders if you live in Atlanta!
Cork, Ireland, had its first meetup last week! Held at The Roundy with about 30 attendees, the night was full of networking and sharing. A lot of the shared tracks were from the Meetup group started before the event (seen in the image above).
