This Year in SoundCloud | April - July 2011

It’s the time of year to look back and reflect on what you’ve done and what’s been going on around us. That’s exactly what we’re doing in the SoundCloud Community team.

Jami & Ed chat with David about Ashton Kutcher joining the cloud, their love of Foo Fighters as well as the birth of Community series Found Sounds in the second episode of This Year in SoundCloud.

SoundCloud Voices

SoundCloud Voices is a new weekly Community feature focusing on new spoken word creators found on SoundCloud.  It might be a podcast, radio show, audio book, interview, audio messages, a poem, anything!  Keep an eye out every Thursday for a new post.

SoundCloud voices time and seeing as we are in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival let’s have a look at some of the audio created so far.

First up is the Richard Herring Podcast, set up by comedy.co.uk.  Each day Richard is recording a live podcast with other comedic special guests, swearing, prizes and more!

Did You Know #11: Comedy

Every Friday we are going to share a new tip that you may not have already known about how to use SoundCloud and in turn we hope this will improve your experience.

Tip #11

Did you know SoundCloud is a great platform for comedians to promote their content and themselves on the web? If you make podcasts you can distribute them easily to your social networks, embed on your own site and push to iTunes. And with our record capabilities there are all kinds of ways to create some spontaneous content or interact with fans!

Take podcast Mike and Tom Eat Snacks for example. They use SoundCloud to submit to iTunes but also embed on their site and promote via their social networks. Pretty rad!

Find out how to do this and more at our SoundCloud for Comedy 101.
