Every Friday we are going to share a new tip that you may not have already known about how to use SoundCloud and in turn we hope this will improve your experience. So let’s get started shall we:
Tip #22:
Did you know the recording functionality on SoundCloud allows you to easily record any type of audio and directly upload it to your account. Great for voice memos, messages to your fans or for capturing sound bites.

To start your recording, either click on the ‘Upload & Share’ button on the top of the page or directly click here. From there you can press the orange record button and start!

nice. a shift in perspective recorded by alexanderljung. thanks to alex’s vision for soundcloud - closing gaps, connecting dots, sharing in a way that’s empowering is as easy as hitting record. get after it!

Just realized that by setting up a three-way call where one of the numbers you dial is the SoundCloud importer you end up with a pretty neat way of recording & sharing phone calls.
Like this.
A phone call on saturday by Alex
The phone numbers to the SoundCloud Importer are:
- US: +1 (215) 995 5025
- UK: +44 20 3318 9801
- DE: +49 30 5679 6870
The first call will set your phone up with your soundcloud account, after that you can use any of the numbers to call up your SC account and leave a message.
I’m thinking phone call recording could be useful for phone interviews (& prank-calls!). Other ideas?

Welcome to a new world rec(order).
The web today makes it really easy for us to share our experiences with the people we care about. Status messages on Twitter and Facebook, videos on YouTube or photos on Flickr, capturing a moment and sharing it with our friends, fans or family gives that moment a special meaning.
Imagine you’re in the subway and all of a sudden a group of strangers starts singing - what’s known as a flashmob is happening right in front of your eyes (and ears). Or imagine you’re on tour with your band and have a super-funny story or acoustic demo of a brand-new song to share with your followers and fans. How awesome would it be if you could capture this moment on the move and instantly share your recording with your people? We think that would be pretty awesome…
Today, we’re excited about the release of the recording feature. The Record button will make it easy for you to capture all kinds of sounds right on SoundCloud & with the iPhone app and share them from anywhere to everywhere on the web: your website, social network profiles or simply between friends & family.
